We've been keeping THE.BEST secret: We scooped Kate!

Long-time Middletownians may recognize this smiling face to be none other than Kate Rokosz, who, over the years, has been a driving force in staple town events, like the beloved MOT Big Ball Marathon and the Middletown Bridal Expo. She's also been a business owner for years to boot. We are so thrilled to add Kate to our team as our new executive director.

If you see Kate around town (which you certainly will), please say hello--she can't wait to meet you!

MEET KATE!

Kate Rokosz has been a resident of Middletown for over 23 years, and has been an active member of the community for even longer. Kate had been a business owner in town for many years. She enjoys serving her community and has done so through her tenure as president of the MOT Big Ball Marathon, producer of the Middletown Bridal Expo, and former member of the Middletown Rotary, to name a few. Kate and her husband, Randy, have raised two daughters in Middletown. With Chelsea graduating from Middletown High School and Karli as an Appoquinimink Jaguar, Kate doesn't take sides in school district rivalry! Kate is also fortunate to have one grandson who is also being raised in Middletown. She looks forward to preserving the town's history, celebrating the arts, and assisting with the beautification of downtown Middletown. She is excited to hear your ideas, and knows that together, we can enrich the economy and community.

Middletown Main Street is proud to partner with WILMAPCO to conduct a "walkability workshop" for the Downtown Middletown District. Essentially, MMS is assessing the current physical environment of the downtown district while exploring prospective improvements. Some improvements could include repairing or widening sidewalks, improving green spaces or parks, addressing vacant or dilapidated properties, making businesses more easily accessible for patrons, possible beautification projects and much more.

MMS facilitated a preliminary walking tour on August 18th, 2021. The actual Walkability Workshop will occur on Wednesday, September 29th at 4:00 p.m. at the Middletown Town Hall Plaza - 19 W Green Street, Middletown, Delaware. If the weather is inclement, October 6th is the rain date (also at 4pm). This event will include group collaboration activities and a walking tour of the central Downtown area. Participants should dress comfortably and be prepared to walk approximately 1/2 mile. Register here! Slots are limited.
